Civil Litigation Trial Attorney Carl Hiller

Carl was born and raised in the upstate of South Carolina, but he has called Columbia home for the last 15 years. Born into a family of lawyers, Carl knew from a young age that he wanted to be a trial attorney and prides himself on helping others.

After high school, Carl attended The University of South Carolina where he graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Darla Moore School of Business in 2010 with a degree in Accounting. He graduated Cum Laude from The University of South Carolina School of Law in 2013. He received membership into The Order of the Wig and Robe and was named to the Dean's List. He received the CALI (American Jurisprudence) Award in Torts II.

During law school, Carl began clerking at a medium sized law firm in Columbia . After graduating, he would become an attorney with this firm where he would remain until leaving to become a founding member of HHP Law Group, LLC in 2020.

During his legal career, Carl has represented individual and commercial clients in a variety of civil litigation with an emphasis on serious personal injury, medical malpractice, insurance bad faith, and complex business disputes. He also has experience in family court matters and represented homeowners and contractors in construction defect cases.

Carl has tried numerous cases to verdict and successfully achieved multi-million dollar outcomes for his clients. He also represents small businesses and performs collections and other transactional services on their behalf.

Carl is an active member of the South Carolina Association of Justice, Richland County Bar and Young Lawyers Division. He is also an active member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Columbia, serving in church leadership.

Carl is an avid fan of University of South Carolina athletics. When not practicing law, he enjoys attending USC sporting events, traveling, being outdoors, fishing, boating, hiking, outdoor cooking (smoking and grilling), gardening and spending time with his wife (Lindsey) , young daughters (Gwendolyn and Olivia), and Australian Shepherd (Chewy).
